Leadership Potential Center

LDG is pleased to announce our strategic partnership with Scitrain, a scientific assessment and training firm headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio and Bamberg, Germany.   Our intent is to provide world class leadership assessment and development services through Scitrain’s innovative leadership assessment technology and LDG’s experienced leadership coaching.

The focus of our professional partnership is the Leadership Potential Center (LPC), a powerful tool for leadership development that utilities technology and coaching to assess leadership competencies provide powerful feedback, plan for development and support ongoing learning and the integration of new skills.

The LPC represents a new approach in assessment centers, which traditionally have utilized in-basket exercise, role-plays and group discussions to assess skills in teamwork, interpersonal savvy and problem solving.  The LPC utilizes a fully dynamic simulation of a complex business environment to assess a broader range of leadership competencies, including change management, strategic thinking, and innovation and learning potential.

At the core of the LPC is a computer-simulated business game characterized by a high degree of realism, complexity and unpredictability.  Teams of 5-6 manage a computer-simulated company, where they are required to make decisions and continuously adjust their strategy and actions to meet the changing demands of the business environment.  A set of additional exercises such as role-plays, case studies and presentations, all thematically embedded into the business game, extend the learning in the LPC.  Several trained observers observe and assess the behavior of participants over the course of the LPC.  The experience is engaging and fun, and the resulting feedback to participants is powerful and relevant.

Following the initial 3-day LPC experience, participants are assigned an LDG coach who works with them to interpret the feedback and integrate other assessment data such as 360 feedback and personality tools.  The coach assists in creating a substantive development plan and leading a discussion with the participant’s boss to engage his/her support and resources for ongoing development.  Quarterly coaching sessions over the following year ensure accountability to execute the development plan and integrate new skills and behaviors.

Evaluations of the LPC experience suggest the combination of the business simulation, feedback targeted to relevant competencies, and coaching focused on an individualized development plan results in significant increases in leadership self-awareness and effectiveness.

“Scitrain looked throughout North American for the best coaching team to partner with the unique, new and powerful assessment tools offered by Scitrain.  After many company reviews and interviews, we concluded that nobody can deliver the level of performance and have the ability to positive impact people by effecting leadership performance like the Leadership Development Group.

The LDG 12-hour coaching program is amazing.  Many LPC participants conclude the 2.5-day session really trying to make sense of all the personal leadership competency feedback they receive through the process.  The LDG coaches work with participants to deepen the understanding of strengths and weaknesses while giving direction on how to improve as a leader.  The power of the LDG coaching has been reported by many participants to have valuable and lasting impact on their leadership effectiveness.”
